Overview

AML/CTF compliance in Peru.

Peru regulates money laundering and terrorist financing through Law No. 27693 and Legislative Decree 1106, supported by UIF-Perú, which receives and analyses suspicious transaction reports.

Regulated entities must apply customer due diligence, identify beneficial owners, monitor relationships, and report suspicious activity to UIF-Perú. Compliance is inspected by whichever body supervises that sector, the SBS for the financial system, the SMV for the securities market, the professional colleges for lawyers and accountants, and UIF-Perú itself where no other supervisor exists. Supervisors expect a designated compliance officer, sound internal controls, and staff training.

MemberCheck helps teams meet these obligations by screening customers and entities against global sanctions, PEP, and adverse-media data, verifying identities, and monitoring risk continuously, with a clear audit trail behind every decision.
